Send/Receive from Gmail

It's always advisable to use your mailbox directly via an IMAP/SMTP connection. However, if you wish, you can connect from a Gmail address.

You'll need an e-mail address hosted by LRob and a password.

Send mail via a personalized address from Gmail

From your Gmail interface, click on the adjustment wheelthen " See all parameters" .

Go to the " Accounts and import" . Eventually, select " Reply with the address to which the message was sent" . Then click on " Add another email address" .

In the popup that opens, choose your display name (visible to your recipients) and enter your personalized email address.

Please note, Gmail default setting does not work. The server is OK "mail.votredomaine.tld" can be secured via a Wildcard certificate on LRob hosting, but port 587 in TLS (which is actually STARTTLS) doesn't work in Gmail.

We recommend the use of SSL port 465 (which is actually TLS).

Once this setting has been made, click on "Add an account".

You will then receive a confirmation e-mail on the source address.

If you don't already check your mailbox, go to your webmail. To do so, go to the website by hand: webmail.yourdomain.tld (replace with your own domain name, which is to the right of the @ in your mailbox).

Enter your personalized email address and password.

You will then be able to view the Gmail mail and click on the link to finalize the configuration.

A message confirms that the configuration has been completed:

You will then see that your mailbox is available in Gmail :

During a new mailingyou can then click on your Gmail address to display a drop-down menu for sender selectionwhose e-mail address has been added.

Receive mail via a personalized address in Gmail

Of course, it's best to connect directly to your IMAP mailbox. But if you insist on using Gmail, it can also retrieve POP mail from your personalized mailbox.

Please note that Gmail retrieves emails at a set speed that cannot be adjusted. A delay of 15 to 30 minutes may therefore occur.

In Gmail settings, go to the " Accounts and import" . Under " View other e-mail accounts "Click on " Add an e-mail account" .

Contact your email address and click on " Next" .

Select " Import e-mails from my other account (POP3)" .

Make sure your username is your full e-mail address.

Please enter the port 995 with SSL connection. Eventually, choose whether you wish to keep the original mail on the source server ("Keep a copy").

Your e-mail address is then added and consulted automatically:

After a few moments it will be loaded:

You can then view the e-mails you have received.
